I shall report on the results of a multi-year investigation into the solar tachocline. We find that the transition in the rotation rate between the convection zone and the radiative zone shows highly significant temporal variations, however, the changes do not follow a simple solar-cycle dependence. The width of the tachocline and position both change in an interesting manner. I shall also report results on an investigation into the shape of the tachocline as revealed from analyzing rotational splittings obtained from very long time series. I shall also discussĀ  on the differences in results obtained with a full 2D analysis and 1D analysis results at different latitudes.
