Phoebe Mahlin is an undergraduate student at the University of Texas at Austin double majoring in Physics and Astronomy with a certificate in Business Spanish. Phoebe is currently participating in the Boulder Solar Alliance REU. With her mentor, Lisa Upton, and co-mentor, Bibhuti Kumar Jha, she is cataloging historical data of active regions on the Sun using the Advective Flux Transport model. She has always been interested in the deep complexities of the universe and plans to continue her studies of astrophysics in graduate school. She is a member of the Astronomy Students Association and Gender Minorities in Physics student organizations on campus.

Outside of her science interests, Phoebe likes to attend run clubs, crochet, and learn languages. Additionally, she has been accepted to study abroad at Korea University for the upcoming fall semester. Phoebe has served as the social media officer for the Korean Music Association and worked as a peer tutor at UT.
